The junior auxiliary members and ladies auxiliary of the American legion post 181 in Snyder joined Mayor Tony Wofford in support of The Poppy Program. The Poppy Program has been around since 1921. On memorial day and Veterans Day the red crepe paper poppies all made by veterans as part of their therapeutic rehabilitation are distributed across the country in exchange for donations that go directly to assist disabled and hospitalized veterans in our communities. The red poppy is a nationally recognized symbol of sacrifice worn by American’s since world war 1 to honor those who served and died for our country.

The junior auxiliary members have been invited to pass out poppies at the WASP museum this Saturday from 9 to 2 in Sweetwater.
